Malaysia’s 24K spot-equivalent gold price was RM550.98 per gram, or RM17,135.47 per troy ounce, at 09:40 MYT on Saturday, Oct. 10, according to LivePriceofGold Malaysia. This is a weekend snapshot, not a live Saturday trade.
LivePriceofGold’s free-market table showed the spot-equivalent figure. Its separate local-price table attributed PublicGold:MY 24K 999 rates of RM543/g to buy and RM597/g to sell at 01:39 UTC, or 09:39 MYT. Those dealer-specific lines were RM54/g apart and are not the same series as spot.
For a USD cross-check, Kitco’s gold chart displayed US$4,193.60 per ounce, up US$61.10, or 1.48%, at about 21:36 EDT on Friday, Oct. 9, which was 09:36 MYT on Saturday. That international quote provides context for the overnight move, but it is not a Malaysian retail price.
For broader context, BullBuzz recently tracked gold near US$4,100 after the Fed minutes and the LBMA survey’s gold outlook and central-bank buying.
Why Malaysia gold price quotes differ from spot
A spot-equivalent conversion is a market reference. A shop’s 999 or 916 quote can also reflect the dealer’s buy-sell spread, product premium, workmanship and the terms of a specific item. The RM543 and RM597 figures above came from a named dealer listing on the source page, not a nationwide fixed price.

What traders and buyers should watch next
The CME Group gold futures fact card lists trading from Sunday through Friday. Saturday pages can still display indicative references, but the snapshot above does not represent a live Saturday futures session. When trading resumes, readers can check the next global gold quote, the ringgit’s exchange rate and the latest dealer buy-sell prices before comparing local products.
